Electronic books

E-books are electronic versions of printed books. The advantage of e-books is accessibility to the entire content and the possibility of searching for words in the text. It is often possible to insert bookmarks, make notes and print parts of the text.

  • Ebrary*
    Electronic books in full-text. Interdisciplinary, but with a focus on economics, social sciences, the humanities and medicine. Video on how to use ebrary
  • Medscape Reference
    "The original open access comprehensive medical textbook for all clinical fields".
    On-line knowledge bank for clinical medicine. Knowledge-based content with up-to-date peer-reviewed guidelines and medical articles.
  • FreeBooks4Doctors
    Find medical books freely available on the internet.
  • Google Books
    Global collection of e-books. Search for selected works in the full text of books. If the author's copyright is terminated, you will get access to the full text or you will get suggestions about where to loan (BIBSYSx) or purchase the book.
  • The Merck Manuals Online Medical Library 
    Full-text e-books covering all subjects within internal medicine, as well as detailed information on paediatrics, psychiatry, obstetrics and much more.
  • The National Academies Press
    More than 4000 books freely available and many more partly available or for sale in pdf format. Several subject areas including medicine and health.
  • NCBI Bookshelf
    A steadily growing collection of biomedical e-books from PubMed.
